权教

Temporary, expedient, or functional teaching, preparatory to the perfect teaching, a distinguishing term of the Tiantai and Huayan sects, i.e. the teachings of the three previous periods [lang id =1028]藏, [lang id =1028]通 and [lang id =1028]別 which were regarded as preparatory to their own, cf. [lang id =1028]圓教.
